Faye Winter got emotional on Celebrity Masterchef as she opened up about her dad's health struggles.
The Love Island star has been taking part in the BBC One cooking competition alongside the likes of Danny Jones from McFly, Paul Chuckle from the Chucklebrothers and American star Nancy Dell'Olio amongst other celebrities. Faye has been impressing on the show so far, cooking a myriad of dishes for judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
She broke down as she discussed her reasoning behind doing the show, and how she wanted to choose dishes specifically based on what her dad liked. He battled Covid and was in intensive care for three weeks.
John mentioned to her: "Faye, throughout this competition one of the people you've spoken about a lot is your dad."
However, she got emotional, adding: "The whole experience has been for him. Yeah, I'm fine, the eyelashes will come off. No, so I came out of Love Island and my dad unfortunately caught Covid and he was in intensive care for three weeks.
"So, it was so hard so and when I got this I thought I'm gonna do it for him at the end of the day and cook dishes he likes. And he will watch this, he didn't watch me on Love Island, he said I swore too much."
"A bit emotional there, mate, don't let that mascara run," John replied back.
It comes after Faye admitted she is still struggling following the backlash to her time in the Love Island villa.
"When I was in there, there was a lot of hate directed towards me and I’ll probably go down as one of the most hated islanders of all time and I’m absolutely fine with that," she said.
"At that time, there was never an islander who got the amount of backlash that I had. I ignored it for a long time, I kind of buried my head in the sand. I actually thought that I was the problem and that these comments were getting on top of me. There were points where I thought, 'Maybe I am this nasty person that they all think that I am.'"
Faye met her boyfriend Teddy Soares through Love Island and they are still going strong a year later.
