Angry Love Island fans have hit out the show's producers for leaving two of the most popular Islanders at risk in a 'cruel' recoupling twist.
Monday night saw the arrival of two bombshells to the Love Island villa - Charlotte Sumner and Leah Taylor - with the two then going on dates with three of the boys, including Tyrique Hyde, much to the upset of Ella, who has been coupled up with him from day one. Tuesday night's episode saw tensions come to a head between Ella and Tyrique, after her openly flirted with the new girl in front of her, before getting close to her for a second time, after Ella sat him down to tell him how much she didn't like.
ITV2 viewers have now raised concerns for Ella, over her relationship with Tyrique, willing her to break free from him. Well, that has now happened, without her having any say in the matter, after Love Island bosses sprung a big twist for the latest recoupling. All of the girls were told to stand in front of the dreaded fire pit as the boys did the choosing, but before any decisions could be made; another text came through informing Charlotte and Leah that they would pick first.
Given what had gone on in the episode, it came as no surprise that Leah picked Tyrique, before Charlotte went for Zach. After the boys then had their opportunity to choose, Ella and Ruchee were left standing, making them vulnerable.
And their night got worse when a text arrived telling the safe Islanders that they would have to pick who to send home out of the two girls, in a move that left many viewers furious, given that both have become firm fan favourites after the first week of the new series. One took to Twitter to blast: "wtf i’m crying thats so evil. we can’t let ella or ruchee go home."
Another tweeted: "How did we get here...we were all rooting for tyrique and Ella & Andre and ruchee just few days ago," as the majority of viewers predicted that Ella would stay and were left fuming with Mitch for choosing Molly to couple up with, given they had not long seen her kissing Zach.
