Love Island star Dr Alex George has been enjoying spending time back in Wales. The doctor, who shot to fame on the reality TV show Love Island, hails from Carmarthen and has been visiting Pembrokeshire.
Dr Alex quickly made a name for himself when he was unlucky in love on the 2018 series of Love Island. Since then Dr Alex has gone on to be a mental health ambassador since his younger brother Llyr took his own life.
Now the star has posted to Instagram to tell his fans he has found "paradise" in Wales. Dr Alex visited Skrinkle Bay in Pembrokeshire.
In a video posted to his Instagram, Dr Alex showed his fans the route to the bay, hidden in a cave, and the gorgeous stretches of sand on the beach. He said: "This slice of paradise is found in the stunning Pembrokeshire...it is honestly like a slice of heaven on earth."
Alex went on to describe how his dogs and his family love the beach and that he even took a dip in the sea. He added that the beach was "amazing" for his mental health.
Recently Dr Alex came under fire for buying four holiday cottages in Pembrokeshire. He said he will be renting one out for free to a Ukrainian refugee family but many people were not impressed he was buying second homes in Wales and he said he was being subject to "threats of violence".
In 2021 Alex became the Youth Mental Health Ambassador to the government, a role he was appointed by former Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Since then Alex has spoken openly about his own mental health and his #postyourpill campaign, where he told his followers he took medication for his anxiety.
