Love Island's 'curse of the yellow bean bag' and why they try to avoid it

Love Island contestants have a theory for figuring out who will be next to be dumped from the villa.

There is one seat that none of the islanders want to use in fears of it bringing them bad luck. On ITV2's Unseen Bits on Saturday Night, Ian Stirling described it as "the curse of the yellow bean bag."

A clip showed Gemma Owen refusing to sit on it as she said: "I'm scared of that yellow bean bag, I'm awfully sorry." Coco added: "The yellow bean bag causes drama. Anyone who sits on it gets drama."

It went on to show one of the latest dumpees, Josh, taking a seat on the doomed chair. He slowly lowered himself into it but later regretted his decision.

He was talking to Summer as he said: "It's that yellow bean bag, I sat on that today and it's f***ed everything up." Later that night he was dumped from the island.

Davide also sat on the unlucky beanbag before a night of drama erupted with Ekin-Su. Taking to the Beach Hut she said that she "hated" the bean bag.

She added: "I've just given up now with the yellow beanbag, it's p***** me right off. I just want to rip it up."

Fans thought the theory was hilarious and took to Twitter to say that they would be keeping an eye out for who would be next to face the fate of the cushiony chair. Christelle said: "Us watching from now on who will be the next victim of the yellow beanbag #loveisland."

Another user said: "Me looking extra close for the rest of the season to see if anyone sits on the yellow beanbag before drama starts. #loveisland." Fatima said: "I actually believe that yellow beanbag is cursed #LoveIsland."
