A former Love Island contestant has revealed how much money islanders get paid while they're on the show.
Amy Hart appeared on Love Island back in 2019, decided to leave the villa after professional dancer Curtis called time on their relationship. As the popular dating show returned for its eighth series earlier this week, Amy took to TikTok to answer some questions about the show.
One follower asked Amy whether islanders get any money to cover the cost of bills such as rent during their time on the show. They said: "What happens to your job whilst your in the villa? Are you told to quit your job or tell them the truth? Also who pays bills, phone bill and rent?"

Amy responded to the question in a TikTok video as she waited for her delayed flight to depart. She said: "I had to leave my job. I was very lucky that the lady that ran Gatwick at the time put my resignation in her junk email box so that she could wait to process it, so if I didn't get to go in I could still keep my job and I didn't have to leave.
"You get a little subsidence while you're in there, I think it's £500 for the first week and then £250 for every week after that, I think, just to pay your bills.
"I was quite lucky I lived at home at the time so it wasn't an issue but for people that it was an issue that's what happens."
Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 on Sunday, June 12
