Former Love Island contestant Amy Hart has revealed the extreme lengths she went through in order to lose weight before entering Casa Amor in 2019.
Appearing on the latest episode of Embarrassing Bodies on Channel 4, the 29-year-old made a series of shocking admissions detailing the methods she used in preparation for her appearance on the hit ITV2 show.
The former British Airways cabin crew member was just 9 stone ahead of her arrival in Majorca.
"It was pretty extreme actually. Eight weeks, gym every day, 1800 calories vegan diet plan," she said.
"I gave up drinking, I'd call in sick to work so I could go to the gym instead."
When questioned why she was so intent on shedding the pounds, the star confessed: "I thought I needed to do that to be attractive to the boys that would be in the villa.
"We've been conditioned that thinner is prettier and that's wrong. There shouldn't be one body type that is beautiful.
"I think people need to realise that your dream body should just be your own body."
Now a healthy weight, Amy has embarked on a reality TV campaign to encourage others to be content with who they are, adding that people are "sick of seeing the same unachievable body types on social media."
She selected six body types to take part in a photoshoot, which she posted on Instagram to get her 1.1 million followers to celebrate 'real body confidence'.
"I think we can all agree that we're sick and tired of seeing the same, unachievable body standards online and on TV and magazines," she said.
"So we are going to break the algorithm together and show there are 101 different types of beautiful bodies."
Previewing the campaign on social media she wrote: "Somebody pinch me! A while ago I told you I had filmed my first outing where on my contract it Said Amy Hart-Presenter and what an absolute honour and privilege it was to work on this!
"Join us on Thursday at 9pm on @e4grams when Dr Anand ( @drana.nd ) @benjysbanter @therollingexplorer @thetiredgirlsguide @loz.mae @helen_lep and @mle_virk try and break the algorithm to show that EVERY BODY IS A BEAUTIFUL BODY.
"I've added a little reminder so you can set one!"
Fans were clearly impressed with the snippet with one writing: "Omg this looks AMAZING just from a small clip. Can't wait to watch. So proud of you Amz."
Another added: "Definitely be watching, congratulations, you deserve every success."
A third responded: "About time your lovely nature and natural talent was recognised. Well done and good luck for the future."
