Love Island fans 'work out' Luca Bish's 'game plan'

Love Island's Luca Bish was left reeling during Sunday's episode as he was separated from Gemma Owen in the latest recoupling.

Newcomer Danica Taylor chose to couple up with Luca, splitting him and Gemma and leaving Michael Owen's daughter having to find a new beau. Luca admitted he was "gutted" but declared it would "make [he and Gemma] stronger".

Gemma chose to recouple with Davide, putting her in a twosome with the Italian native for the second time this series. Luca was clearly unhappy with the situation.

He sat at arm's length from Danica, and looked upset as he watched Gemma and Davide embrace. Some viewers questioned why he seemed so emotionally invested after such a short space of time.

But others think they have sussed his "game plan". Taking to Twitter, Joe said: "Luca definitely knows who Gemma’s dad is", while Sam Martin said: "Luca defo knows who Gemma's dad is. He's clinging on way too much for a girl that doesn't give him much in return".

Charlotte said: "Luca has worked out who Gemma's dad is and he wants to be the next Jack Finch, that's his game plan calling it now" [sic]. Clare McGoldrick said: "Is it only me that thinks Luca only likes Gemma because he truly knows who her dad is?"

Love Island continues at 9pm each night on ITV2 and the ITV Hub
