Love Island fans think they're on to Gemma Owen after her silence over Jacques O'Neill leaving the villa. Gemma, 19, was stunned when her ex entered the Majorcan pad back at the start of the series but he went on to form a firm friendship with Luca Bish, who Gemma is coupled up with.
After Jacques' tearful goodbye last night, which left a devastated Luca in floods of tears, Gemma was keeping quiet. But fans watching at home quickly predicted why they think Michael Owen's daughter may not have had much to say regarding her former lover's shock decision to leave his partner Paige Thorne behind and fly back to the UK.
"#LoveIsland Gemma completely unmoved and cold as ice because she’s seen all of this psychodrama with Jacques before," one viewer took to Twitter to suggest as the dramatic scenes aired. "Gemma this entire episode was so unbothered that Jacques was leaving," another began their tweet with. "She’s got stories to tell about that relationship. Wonder why she’s keeping all hush hush about it still #LoveIsland."

"The fact Gemma didn’t react tells me she has seen this side of Jacques before #LoveIsland," a third agreed, with another adding: "I honestly think deep down Gemma knew this was going to happen when she told Jacques all that #LoveIsland she used to date him so she défo knows how he’ll react."
One Love Island fan suggested that the star may have prepared for potential awkward scenarios before walking into the Villa last month.
"Gemma has had some serious media training before she came on this show because she’s acting like Jacques isn’t her whole ex boyfriend," an internet commentator wrote on Twitter. "She more than anyone knows what he’s like but she’s minding her business and I have to respect it #LoveIsland."
Gemma and Jacques dated on the outside world for a year and split up in the summer of 2020, way before either star signed up for the ITV2 reality TV series. Explaining his reasons for quitting the show to Paige, Jacques told the Welsh paramedic he felt like he couldn't be the best version of himself whilst living in the Spanish villa.
"You've got the best of me and now you're getting the worst of me," he told her, before heading downstairs to ask the rest of the group to gather by the fire pit to announce his exit.
