Love Island fans have been left baffled by Jack Keating’s shock baby announcement.
The son of Ronan Keating, who appeared on the ITV2 series last summer, took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal that he had welcomed a baby girl.
Sharing a black-and-white photo of himself cradling his baby, the 23-year-old captioned the snap: “Welcome to the world my little (princess emoji)”.
After learning the news, fans of the reality show took to the comment section to share their confusion about the timing of the birth.
The star appeared on Casa Amor in July of last year, leaving fans questioning whether his baby was conceived before he entered the show.
One user penned: “I know I’m bad at maths, but the math ain’t mathing on this at all!!! Love Island isn’t even 9 months ago yet. I mean I know accidents happen, but...”
“I’m so confused. The maths isn’t adding up,” another remarked.
A third questioned: “Ok, I’m confused what? However congratulations, I’m super happy for you.”
“So did he have a gf when he was in Love Island – correct me if I’m wrong, it said he was in the villa 8 months ago, and a baby takes 9?!” another asked.
Jack hasn’t been public about his relationships since leaving the villa last summer and it is not known who the mother of his baby is.
However earlier this month, he told the Irish Independent that he was “still single and ready to mingle”.
He said: “I’m on Hinge [the dating app], but I don’t use it too seriously. I dip in every once in a while and I’m enjoying being single.
“People think my account is fake. I’m verified, but they still believe I’m a catfish who’s stolen someone else’s photos. I’m like: ‘Trust me – I’m the real deal.’”
Keating also revealed that he is set to appear on Dinner Date on ITV in his search for love later this month.
The Standard has contacted Jack Keating’s rep for comment.
It is the first grandchild for father-of-five and Boyzone star Ronan Keating, 46, who called his new granddaughter a “little cutie”.
Ronan’s ex-wife Yvonne Connolly, who also shares daughters Missy, 22, and Ali, 17, with the singer, also shared her joy and wrote under the photo: “I miss her so much already.”
Meanwhile, Jack’s stepmother Storm Keating also commented on the announcement with a series of heart emojis.
The Magic Radio Breakfast host has been with Storm, 40, since 2010 and the pair have welcomed two children, Cooper, five, and Coco, two, together.
Jack entered Love Island’s Casa Amor villa alongside Deji Adeniyi, 25, Josh Le Grove, 22, George Tasker, 23, Samuel Agbiji, 22, and Billy Brown, 23, in last summer.
Although he didn’t make it into the main villa, it appears he made friends for life as many of his ITV2 co-stars were quick to congratulate him on becoming a dad.
Luca Bish wrote: “Congratulations brother”, while fellow Casa Amor bombshell Billy Brown echoed the same sentiments.
Mollie Salmon penned: “Congratulations Jack, you’ll be the best Dad”, and Danica Taylor shared: “Congratulations babes!!!!”.
