Eagle-eyed Love Island viewers are certain they have spotted a clue that Kai Fagan's parents were less than impressed with his ex in the villa, Olivia Hawkins.
Before the couple's victory marked a show first for the ITV dating series, with many commenting that it was 'history making', Kai reunited with his beloved mum and dad after being apart from them for over two months.
The primary school teacher, 24, was left close to tears as the parents and pals of the Love Island finalists entered the villa before the final result, where Kai and his partner, Sanam Harrinanan, were crowned winners of the 2023 series.
Before his romance with Casa Amor bombshell Sanam, Kai enjoyed a brief romance with Olivia, and upon his reunion with his mum JIll, viewers were left convinced that she and Kai's step-dad were not fond of his pairing with Olivia.
After their romance soon turned bitter in the villa after both their heads turned during Casa Amor, Kai and Olivia went from lovers to enemies in a matter of days - with Kai refusing to apologise to Olivia after their connection crumbled.
Nearing the final, Kai's mum made it clear that she felt her son had nothing to apologise for, and stood by Kai when he refused to offer an apology to Olivia after being asked by host Maya Jama once again if he felt as though he owed her one.
Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts, some Love Island viewers pointed out that Kai's mum Jill was not a fan of Olivia.
"I love Kai’s parents from when they said he didn’t need to apologise to Olivia in front of her on Aftersun," one shared.
"Kai’s mum definitely wasn’t an Olivia fan," another tweeted while a third echoed: "I bet Kai's mam is so happy he's bringing home Shanam."
"Yikes! It's clear to see that Kai's parents were really not fond of Olivia. TBH they were so unsuited though," someone else suggested.
While another eagle-eyed Love Island viewer shared: "The real Kai came out when Sanam showed up. Yeah Kai's mum did NOT like Olivia lol."
Sanam has made Love Island became the first ever Casa Amor bombshell to win the show, as she and Kai stormed to victory during the live finale last night.
Viewers were happy that the couple had won, and had hoped they would be the winners out of the four remaining couples.
Tanya Manhenga and Shaq Muhammad, Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall, Tom Clare and Samie Elishi, and Sanam and Kai were this series' finalists.
