Love Island fans convinced producers 'targeted' Gemma's followers as her pal joins show

Love Island have have been left convinced that producers 'targeted' Gemma Owen's Instagram followers in a bid to get them to join the Casa Amor line-up.

As the girls got to grips with their new surroundings in Casa Amor after leaving their boys back in the original villa, they were soon introduced to the six new boys who have already set their sights on stealing the ladies away from their couples.

And as soon as new boy Billy Brown entered Casa Amor, Gemma Owen couldn't take her eyes off him - due to the fact he looked rather familiar.

As it turns out, Gemma and Billy have 'mutual friends' on the outside, and hang around in the same circle of friends.

Viewers will already be aware that Gemma's ex-boyfriend, Jacques O'Neill, entered the villa on the second week of the show - a move which left viewers fuming at the time.

Following the revelation from tonight's bombshell Casa Amor episode, fans flocked to Twitter once again to call out the producers decision to bring in another one of Gemma's acquaintances.

"Why is this all of a sudden the Gemma show? I'm sick of everyone knowing her. This new dude Billy knows her too? That's ridiculous," one fan complained.

"Of course Billy and Gemma know one another. For the love of god," another moaned.

"Pretty convenient that Billy and Gemma have mutual friends isn't it? This show annoys me," someone else tweeted.

Meanwhile, another penned: "New boy Billy is probably best buds with Gemma and was paid to come on the show."

Billy is one of the new contestants, hailing from Surrey, he's 23-years-old and is the director of a roofing company.

Speaking about facing the other boys as competition, Brown said: “I’m very competitive in anything I do. Whatever it is, I always want to win. This is about winning the girl I want, sort of thing.”

"If that girl has a better connection with me and likes the look of me more then I’m obviously going to change her mind."
