Love Island fans complained moments into the new series as they accuse the show of ripping off a rival.
The much-loved ITV2 series is back for a brand new summer of love as 10 hot singletons hope to find the one in the villa. Maya Jama is back to host the new summer series after taking over from former host Laura Whitmore.
As the show made its return today, a few months after the Winter edition, fans rushed to social media with the same complaint as they gave their verdict on the brand new series.
Sharing their frustrations on social media, one fan wrote: "What’s going on. A guy. Is this too hot to handle?? #LoveIsland."
"Why is there a man here.. sorry.. #LoveIsland," a second added, as a third shared: "Why is a man coming out next? They’ve never done this before #LoveIsland." A fourth added: "Ohh soo they’re following the too hot to handle formula now #LoveIsland."
Another shared: "Not into this new format. Do the spontaneous coupling again #LoveIsland."
Host Maya admitted before the show that she was "full of nerves" for last series - and this time she feels much more excited.
"It feels so exciting, I was full of nerves for my first series because I was wondering what it would be like. Now, I know I feel really ready and excited, I just can't wait to get started! Now there’s a bit more of an expectation, I just want to make sure that I live up to that expectation again…. The pressure is on for my stylist because the dresses did very well last series," she said.
Asked what she learned from the previous series, she added: "I’ve learnt to try and get as much sleep as you can on the plane, although it will be very different this time because South Africa was a lot further than Spain! I’ve also learnt that everything can change so quickly, you can have an idea of who you think may win one minute and then it can all change the next day."
10 Islanders are hoping to find love this summer - but there's no doubt some bombshells on the way ready to cause havoc. The viewers were given a special task this year, and were asked to choose who they wanted to couple up to who.
How will the new set of Islanders react to the twist - and will they be happy with their chosen partner?
