The Love Island girls were at each other’s necks tonight on the ITV2 show as Amber Beckford and Gemma Owen faced off with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu on Monday night.
The Turkish actress and the childminder exchanged barbs over who is “playing a game”, before the 19-year-old daughter of footballer Michael Owen joined in.
Ekin-Su and the girls gathered on the beanbags in the villa garden at night, with each dressed to the nines before Amber said to Ekin-Su: “How you've been acting the last couple of days has made me question you.”
Ekin-Su then cut in to say: “You're trying to create s*** right now to p*** the f*** out of me.”
Amber looked startled as she said back: “I'm being genuine!” She adds: “It can p*** you off and you're allowed to feel p***ed off.”
She continued: “You're playing a bit of a game. You're all in the drama and this, that and the other.”
Ekin-Su was then on the offensive as she demanded: “Am I playing a game or are you playing a game?”
Amber was again surprised as she appeared to look over to Dami elsewhere in the villa and asked: “Oh I'm definitely playing a game am I?”
Ekin-Su replied sarcastically: “Yeah because you're really secure in your relationship. You're attacking my personality saying I'm playing, of course I'm going to say the same back to you.”
But Love Island viewers at home were left confused by the moment as Ekin-Su entered the villa determined that she wasn’t there for “seasonal girlfriends”, leaving many guessing she was causing drama for the sake of it.
One wrote: “So funny seeing Ekin-su saying no one is genuine. If you think no one else is genuine maybe you’re the issue babe x” as another tweeted: “This conversation didn’t need to escalate like this. Ekin loves a bit of drama.”
Many noted the differences in her opinion from her opening comments, with one writing: “wasn't ekin su the same one who said she's not here for seasonal girlfriends why is she shocked??”
Another commented: “Ekin-su saying she’s friends with these girls in here but they are not always being genuine, but then this is also the same girl that said she’s not here to make seasonal girlfriends.”
“For somebody who didn’t want ‘seasonal girlfriends’ they are really upset they have no friends in the villa,” another wrote.
Another angered fan tweeted alongside eye-roll emojis: “EKIN SU U CAME IN HERE SAYING U “weren’t here for seasonal girlfriends” AND THEN SNOOK AROUND WITH ANOTHER GUY AND STILL EXPECT EVERYONE TO SUPPORT U EVEN THO U HAVENT BOTHERED WITH THEM??”
Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
