Gemma Owen has endured a real rollercoaster ride in terms of popularity on this season's Love Island.
The daughter of former footballer Michael Owen appeared to be public enemy number one when she first entered the villa.
But she appeared to have won over the doubters after becoming a power couple alongside Luca Bish and had become one of the favourites to win the cash when this year's dating show comes to an end.
All that fan love might now be fading once again however following the arrival of bombshell and former islander Adam Collard.
The 19-year-old has been branded "fake and jealous" by some social media users as Geordie Adam tries to disrupt the apple cart.
As Adam tried to get to know the girls one by one, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu was seen jumping up to give him a tour of the villa.
Speaking to Tasha Ghouri, show jumper Gemma slammed her actions after Tasha said she thinks Ekin-Su will be trying to make Davide jealous.
Gemma said: "The thing is with Ekin, she wants every guy that comes in here, she wants to be number one pick.
"I don't have a problem if she wants to get to know him, absolutely fine, but don't **** about it."
But the comments left some fans confused about Gemma's reasons behind the comments.
One Twitter user wrote: "ok so gemma is slagging ekin off cos she fancies davide yeh #loveisland."
Another penned: "gemma i beg u stop b****ing about ekin #loveisland"
A third angrily said: "Gemma is so fake. Why doesn’t she anything to ekin su’s face I don’t get it #LoveIsland."
And a fourth put: "Gemma loves to smile in Ekins face and then chat s*** behind her back. It’s giving jealous #LoveIsland."
Another user commented: "Gemma you are just jealous that you ain’t getting any attention #LoveIsland"
Adam's arrival has put a spanner in the works for a number of the girls, including Paige Thorne who seems keen to pursue him.
But in a teaser clip from Wednesday's episode, Jacques O'Neill appears to have taken offence to Adam and Paige and confronts him about comments he's made.
A look ahead saw Gemma laying on a bed in the garden as she told her ex-boyfriend: "Oh he was proper slagging you off."
Jacques immediately jumped up and stormed over to Paige and asked her: "Has Adam been slagging me off?"
He's then heard shouting: "Who the f*** is he?! Just another geezer that's been on this show, he's f***ing nothing mate!"
Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
