Indiyah Polack ’s mum has issued a warning to her Love Island love interest Dami Hope, saying: “Don’t hurt my girl.”
Mum Dee is keeping an eye on the pair’s blossoming romance, hoping Dami proves himself the perfect man for her daughter.
She said: “They look good together… but Dami is still on probation in my eyes.”
And despite her smile, she says she does have some words of warning: “Do not hurt my Indi – I’ll be watching you!”
Dee’s cautious approach comes after hotel waitress Indiyah, 23, and microbiologist Dami, 26, briefly split after Casa Amor, when both picked someone else to recouple with.
While Indiyah took things slowly in getting to know 25-year-old Deji in the new villa, Dami admitted he had locked lips several times with bombshell Summer, 22.
But after their shock switch of partners, Dami finally won Indiyah back with a heartfelt speech at Thursday’s recoupling.
Explaining his reasons for wanting Indiyah back, he confessed to absolutely adoring her and said missing her was “unbearable”.
Giving her cautious approval, Dee said: “I’ve seen some growth in Dami since the Casa drama. He has potential. Indi is going at a smooth pace – all the while, she is analysing situations and actions.” And she says she and eldest daughter Shak have been in hysterics over Indiyah’s antics.
Dee said: “Her facial expressions are jokes! The challenge where they’re spitting drinks into each other’s mouths… yuck. She obviously hated it, bless her.” Backing her girl all the way, Dee says Indiyah “will definitely invest” if she and Dami win the £50,000 prize.
But she said there may also be a small shopping spree, adding: “Why not treat yourself? She deserves it.” Fans are expecting fireworks in tonight’s episode after Friday’s show lit the fuse with a glimpse of the infamous Movie Night.
Even before being faced with their Casa Amor antics, Islanders had been left reeling by the departure of Coco, 27, and Josh, 22, who were dumped after a public vote.
Josh had been paired up with Summer, while Coco was in a couple with Deji. After leaving, both backed Davide and Ekin-Su as the most genuine couple in the villa.
Coco said: “They’re like an old married couple, fighting one second and making a carbonara the next. They’re just legends. I’m obsessed with them as a couple.”
While Tasha and Andrew had earlier delighted Islanders by officially becoming a couple, their joy was short-lived after both landed in the bottom six.
But Tasha’s tears over the public vote were quickly eclipsed by Movie Night – when it was the turn of Ekin-Su to feel the heat as her bedtime antics with George in Casa Amor were revealed, prompting Davide to once again brand her “a liar”.
The Islanders then all got to watch Dami’s “reading” of Gemma, predicting her head might turn – followed by footage of Billy flirting with her in the kitchen.
That left Luca steaming… and Gemma hoping the spotlight will swiftly turn elsewhere as Movie Night plays on tonight.
