Winter Love Island is about to return as singles ready for love jet off to the South African sun. Airing for the second time, the first winter edition was shown in 2020 and then further series were delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now the new winter series is back with a new host and a reported new luxury villa.
The first full promotional trailer for winter Love Island is set to air during the James Bond film No Time To Die on ITV1 on New Year's Day. The trailer features brand new host Maya Jama on a velvet bejewelled bucking bronco as she tells viewers: "It’s time to grab love by the horns, I am ready, are you?”
The advert shows Maya, who replaces Laura Whitmore, dressed in a jumpsuit with Cupid symbols as she poses in front of the camera and rides a pink buckaroo cow. The narrator of the series, Iain Stirling, then announces that Love Island is "coming soon" to ITV2 and ITV streaming site ITVX.

Winter Love Island will begin on ITV2 in January 2023, with no exact air date released yet, although there is a rumoured start date of Monday, January 16.
Of her new role, Maya said: “I’ve always been such a massive Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows! I can’t wait to get into the Villa to meet all of the Islanders.”
The last series of Winter Love Island aired in 2020 and was won by Paige Turley and Finn Tapp, who ultimately chose to split the £50,000 prize money. Paige and Finn are one of the rare Love Island couples who are still together now. They regularly post updates on social media.
