Love Island 2022 winners crowned and fans are all saying same thing

Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu have been crowned Love Island winners 2022. The couple have had their ups and downs in the villa, including Ekin-Su pursuing Jay and Davide kissing other girls during Casa Amor.

Now they are stronger than ever and are looking forward to beginning their life together on the outside. The £50,000 prize money was split between the pair, with them taking £25,000 each.

Ekin-Su burst into tears upon hearing they had won, while Davide comforted her. Gemma Owen and Luca Bish came second.

They beat fellow Islanders Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri, Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, and Luca Bish and Gemma Owen to be crowned 2022 winners. You can read more about the finalists here.

In a twist different to previous series the couple did not have to decide if they were going to split the money. Ekin-Su and Davide have had one of the rockiest relationships in the villa however overcame every hurdle to enjoy some lovely moments.

Their dates included a trip to a vineyard and being serenaded by Alfie Boe. Both Ekin-Su's and Davide's mums approved of the relationship and during Love Island they both told each other that they loved each other.

Ekin-Su said: "Good things don't come easy and with every bump in the road our connection has become stronger and deeper...I want you in my present and my future."

Davide said: "The way we were joining our time together was magic...we have a world to enjoy together."

The final saw Davide and Ekin-Su learn to salsa dance and perform touching and moving speeches about their journey in the villa.

Many fans took to Twitter to express their delight about Davide and Ekin-Su winning. One said: "Best couple to ever win Love Island, they carried the whole show, made us laugh and made our hearts burst in happiness."

Another added: "YESSS THE ITALIAN STALLION AND TURKISH DELIGHT WON AS THEY SHOULD!" A third said: "winners in my heart; winners in reality too". And: "I love them so much #loveisland WE DID IT GUYS IM SO PROUD OF THE UK"

Also: "The character arc, the romance, the iconic lines and moments... We'll never have another Ekin Su, entered as a bombshell and left the undisputed Queen." Another said: "Ekin Su - An icon, legend and is the moment. She’s carried this season on her back."

Love Island will be back in 2023 with a summer and winter series, meaning fans will have more episodes than ever to enjoy.
