Behind the scenes secrets from Love Island 2022 are being let slip. Fellow contestants on the ITV2 show have revealed that there was only one smoker in the line-up for this year's show and they were forced to light up alone and also leave the villa to do so.
During a recent interview, Josh Le Gove and Coco Lodge, who were both Casa Amor bombshells, spilled the beans on the secret cigarette smoker. The pair, according to a Mirror report, unmasked the lone smoker as Davide Sanclimenti, who went on to win the series alongside Ekin-Su Culculoglu.
It appears that the 27-year-old Italian had to go out the front door of the villa to get his nicotine fix, so that he was away from the cameras. Josh Le Gove was reported as telling Closer magazine the location for the crafty cigarette. He said: "It was just outside the front."

Adding to the reveal, Coco said: "It was only Davide that smoked, so he was probably out there having a great time by himself." She continued: "Adam [Collard] vaped, but he came in later."
In the past Islanders on the dating show openly smoked on screen but since the 2019 series, this was stopped and those who wanted a cigarette had to use a designated smoking area. Smoking in groups is discouraged by producers and Islanders can vape away from the camera.
It was a situation that Becky Hill found rather odd when she came into the villa to perform during the recent series. She said: "Well if anybody wants a cigarette they have to go out one by one to this tree outside with a bucket and smoke on their own." She added: "I was like: ‘Wow, really?’ That was a funny little fact that I thought was quite interesting."
The singer went on. "Obviously the producers don’t want to miss any filming and they’re not allowed to be filmed smoking and not really drinking so I found that quite amusing."
It appears that the smoking rule isn't new. Sharon Gafka, who was an Islander in a previous series, has also spoken about what happens if you are a smoker. She revealed: "If you wanted a cigarette you would have to say into your microphone 'I really want to go for a cigarette'. They'd say, 'OK, we'll get someone from production to supervise you and it'll take place outside the front door somewhere'. You would go there, you would have your cigarette and then you'd go straight back in. You wouldn't be on your own, it would be you and a member of production."
