A drunken and "loutish" woman viciously attacked two of her neighbours in front of their young children. Shantell Featherstone bit a man on the arm during a bad-tempered confrontation in the street and later tried to grab his girlfriend by the throat, causing her to fall to the ground and chipping her front tooth.
The 46-year-old ignored all attempts to calm her down and kept falling over because of the sheer amount of alcohol that she had downed, a court heard. Stephen Robinson, prosecuting, said that there had been no previous problems between the victims and Featherstone, and that she was normally friendly.
The man became aware of a commotion outside in the street and saw that Featherstone was arguing with another neighbour. He went to investigate and there was a confrontation between him and Featherstone.

Featherstone was guided away but she later kept coming in and out of her house, shouting and saying that everyone was "fake". She seemed to be heavily drunk and fell over a number of times, Hull Live reports.
Neighbours in the street laughed at her and she approached the man's house, shouting at him. His young children were nearby. "They were upset and started crying," said Mr Robinson.
The man decided to escort Featherstone home but she lunged at him. He spun her around so that she was not facing him but she grabbed hold of him as he tried to walk her to her house and she bit him on the arm, ripping a hole through his T-shirt and causing bleeding. "He pushed her away," said Mr Robinson. "He told her to go home."
The man's girlfriend approached Featherstone and tried to reason with her, and the man told her that she needed to go home, but she lunged forward and tried to grab the woman by the throat. Featherstone dragged her to the floor.
"Her face hit the pavement," said Mr Robinson. She felt pain in her lip and a front tooth was chipped, leaving her feeling self-conscious that it was noticeable, and believing that cosmetic treatment was likely.
"[The victim] was angry and upset that this happened where she lived," said Mr Robinson. "She has always tried to help her neighbours and this happened in front of her children. They were shaken up after the incident." The woman also suffered swelling to her knee and a scrape to her arm.
"The defendant has moved away and there has been no trouble since," said Mr Robinson.
Featherstone later told police that she had been drinking and could not remember very much about what happened. Rachel Scott, mitigating, said that Featherstone had been suffering from problems, including stress, at the time.
Featherstone, of Huntingdon Street, Gipsyville, Hull, admitted two offences of assault on August 12 last year. She was originally charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, but admitted a lesser offence.
Sentencing Featherstone at Hull Crown Court, Recorder Gurdial Singh said: "This is just drunken, loutish behaviour. You behaved in a loutish way. You were drunk. You may well have been under the influence of drugs.
"You behaved pathetically, that's the way I see it. You no longer live in the area and so there is no chance of a repetition of this behaviour.
"Your behaviour was disgraceful. To carry on like you did ... and to set about [the victims] in the loutish way you did is appalling. Do it again and you will go to prison."
Featherstone was given 20 days' rehabilitation. As she left the dock, she said: "Thank you very much. Have a nice day. Thank you."
