Louise Minchin has announced her latest career move after quitting BBC Breakfast last year and taking on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
Swapping the red sofa in the studio for a cold camp covered in critters, Louise was a hit with viewers, and now her fans can listen to her more regularly again thanks to the new venture she's about to embark on.
The 53-year-old broadcaster's new career move will be hosting a podcast where she will interview incredible people who have done things out of the ordinary.
Louise, a keen cyclist, will head up the Push Your Peak podcast which will have a sporting focus.
Yesterday Louise issued an update for fans and keen listeners, writing on social media: "Just to let you know the first episode of my @wattbike podcast #pushyourpeak comes out this Wednesday and who better to start with than endurance cyclist extraordinaire @mrmarkbeaumont who was fabulously honest, giving huge insights into how he got through tough events.
"I have loved doing these podcasts and have learnt so much for every one of my guests. Thanks to all of them and I hope you enjoy listening to them too. The countdown has begun..."
When the venture was announced, Louise took to Instagram and said: “Push Your Peak is a brand new podcast brought to you by Wattbike.
"Join me, Louise Minchin, and some of the world’s most incredible sportspeople to learn what it takes mentally and physically to push yourself beyond your limits.
“Whether you are an elite or everyday athlete, it can be hard to continually progress.
“How do you push yourself out of your comfort zone? Where do you go to find that inner drive?
“Tune in to hear these inspiring stories and take away the belief that you can achieve your own goals no matter how big or small.”
Fans of the newsreader were quick to comment on her new venture, with one writing: "Really looking forward to this."
A second person then said: "That sounds really interesting. I look forward to listening."
While somebody else touched on her departure from the BBC Breakfast sofa and said: "Still miss you in the morning gorgeous lady."
Louise stepped down from her BBC presenting stint in September 2021 after two decades of waking the nation up.
At the time that she quit, she released a statement which read: “I have absolutely loved being part of the 6 million strong BBC Breakfast family but after nearly two decades presenting the programme, I have decided it is time I stopped setting my alarm for 0340 in the morning.
"A big thank you to everyone who has watched and supported me, I have loved it and I will miss you all.”
She couldn't stay away the world of telly for long though, because in November she starred on ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and headed into Gwyrch Castle.
The perfect person to head up this new sport-focused podcast, the broadcaster-turned-podcaster embarked on a 1,200 kilometre journey on her bike from the border between Chile and Argentina.
While cycling she was 3,800 metres high in the Andes to Buenos Aires. After completing the challenge she said: "It was indeed a test, of endurance and courage that I will never forget."
