Former RTE 2FM presenter Louise McSharry has revealed to her followers that she has previously put off going to the dentist over feeling "ashamed" but has found a practice that puts her anxieties at ease.
Louise, who finished her 2FM presenting gig last year after 11 years, revealed that she has been on her dental journey for more than a year now which has included whitening her teeth at home.
Speaking to her 55.2k Instagram audience, the former radio host revealed: "[During] my next appointment, I'm getting some bonding done. They're kind of like little covers for your teeth. It's like a less damaging veneer, basically.
"There's already significant improvement. I have to get used to it now, being able to smile."
Louise has been sharing her dental journey for a while now, and said that a number of people have gotten in contact with her to say that she inspired them to begin their dental journey.
She said: "I avoided going to the dentist for a really long time because I was really ashamed. It's been great to seize the day and get going."
Louise has been going to 3 Dental Dublin at The Red Cow Complex, which she says helped ease her anxieties around the dentist.
She said: "I find their practice great because it's not super intimidating. I always found the one on one small office things kind of intimidating."
Louise previously told her Instagram followers: "My dental history is basically that I have been going, essentially, from one emergency to the next.
"I was really ashamed at the state of my teeth. I have missing teeth, I have broken teeth, it's not good in there."
