Louis van Gaal has questioned Frenkie de Jong's fitness ahead of the World Cup in Qatar - a problem that may concern Erik ten Hag.
The Manchester United manager tried to sign De Jong, 25, in the summer and it's believed he's still after his signature. The midfielder played under Ten Hag at Ajax, helping them win a league and cup double during the 2018/19 campaign before joining Barcelona.
Yet Ten Hag could decide against trying to sign De Jong in January if he's not fit enough. The Red Devils' boss demands a lot from his players - he forced them to run laps around United's training ground the day after their 4-0 defeat to Brentford in August.
