Louis Tomlinson said he was 'gutted' as he was forced to cancel in-store album signings after being rushed to hospital.
The singer was due to attend signings at HMV stores across the UK – including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh – to meet fans and celebrate the release of his latest album Faith in the Future.
However, he has been forced to re-schedule the signings for a later date after falling and breaking his arm "pretty badly" shortly after his performance in New York.
Louis shared the news with fans as he posted a statement to his Instagram page. It read: "Thank you to everyone that's listened to the new album so far, it means the world to me.
"The show last night in New York was incredible. Unfortunately on the way. back I've managed to fall and break my right arm pretty badly.
"So I'm gutted to say I'll have to reschedule the in-store signings next week.
"New dates will be announced very soon. Thank you for all your support and sorry to anyone who was coming next week."
He then simply signed off the message with "Louis" before sharing two X-Ray images of his broken arm.
Fans were quick to send well-wishes in the comments as one said: "omg, be careful Louis, we will pray for a swift recovery".
Another added: "Get well ! Take care of you, love!! We love you and we adore the album!!"
"Oh no!! Take care, and amazing job on the album," a third penned alongside a heart eye emoji.
This isn't the first time Louis has injured himself - as he performed at Wembley with his arm in a sling in April this year.
Louis had fractured his elbow while running earlier in the month but continued the European leg of his tour.
He said of the injury: "I had a race yesterday, which I won, but it was a running race and I've hurt myself.
"I've got a little fracture on my elbow."
And as he shared his latest injury with fans in an Instagram statement, many urged him to "be careful".
"LOUIS DO WE NEED TO WRAP YOU IN BUBBLE WRAP," said one.
Another joked: "King of the 50 metre road, eh? Seriously, hope you mend soon!"
While a third said: "Stop breaking your arms, what is it, second time? You’re so clumsy".
It comes after Louis discussed hopes for One Direction to reunite someday and said it would be a "shame" if it didn't happen.
As he appeared on Lorraine in September, Louis responded to reunion rumours as speculation recently spiked when Zayn Malik posted a video singing One Direction hit Night Changes.
Zayn posted a black and white video on Instagram singing an a cappella version of Night Changes from the band’s fourth album, sending fans into a frenzy.
On whether a band reunion is coming, Louis said: "One day. There’s a lot of moving parts, but it would be a shame if we didn’t. It would be a shame if we didn’t."
Lorraine suggested they all come together for a really big event a nd Louis said: "I hope so."
