A lucky Irish lotto player who narrowly missed one ball to claim the winning €6 million jackpot still has massive cause for celebration after scooping a life-changing six-figure sum.

In total, over 74,000 players won prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws. There were 19 winners of the €1,275 prize, which was achieved by matching five balls.
There was no winner of the Lotto Plus 1 top prize of €1,000,000, with one punter landing five balls and a bonus ball to claim the next top prize of €5,000.
Last week, a Cork woman had a Bank Holiday to remember after snagging a whopping €500k from a €20 scratch card. She said she was in "complete shock" after picking up the ticket "as a treat" in Ballincollig.
The winner of Wednesday night's six-figure sum is being asked to contact the National Lottery to collect their eye-watering sum of money.
On collecting the prize, Lotto officials said: "For prizes of €10,000 and above, please contact the National Lottery Claims Department on 1800 666 222 Mon-Fri 9.15am-5.30pm where arrangements will be made to process your prize."
