A Wicklow man has described his delight at nabbing €300,000 in a recent Lotto draw.
The man won the hefty sum on last Friday's EuroMillions game. He admitted to not checking his ticket for a few days, making the win even more surreal.
He said: "I had the ticket in my pocket all weekend before it even crossed my mind to check it on the Monday after the draw. When I scanned the ticket on the app, I got the message to say ‘You’ve Won Big’ but I had no idea just how much I had actually won."
He later rang the Claims Department to find out the exact figure. He described his good fortune as a "total shock", having rarely won prizes in the past.

The winning ticket was bought in The Gem on Quinsborough Road in Bray. The man will use the money to help out his family.
The lucky player won exactly €318,087 in the EuroMillions draw on Friday June 23. He scooped up the generous prize by matching five numbers and one lucky star.
