RTE star Lottie Ryan says she hopes her son Wolf won’t be teased because of his name, like her brother Rex was.
The 2FM host opened up about the reasons why she chose the unusual name Wolf for her firstborn son.
When asked about choosing her son’s name on her podcast with Jennifer Zamparelli, Jen & Lottie do... Parenting, the radio presenter said: "I came from a family where names were picked for us to live up to. I think Wolf Aprile is a pretty cool name to live up to."
But she said her husband Fabio warned his own mother about the name they picked out at the time for fear her mother-in-law would pass judgement in front of her.

"Fabio did have to warn his mum, but I didn’t know at the time. If I had known at the time, I would have killed him.
"Afterwards, he told me he had warned his mum in advance because he was afraid his mum would say something negative in front of me."
Lottie chose the name Wolf because of her mum Morah, as it was one of her original name choices for her sons - Elliot and Rex.
"I was talking to my boss in 2FM about Meryl Steep being called a geriatric mother when she had her kid and she called that kid Wolf.
"I was saying, ‘They call me a geriatric mother in the hospital and Wolf is a bloody brilliant name’.
"It reminded me my mum was going to call Rex Wolf. Rex was supposed to be Wolf, but they decided that Rex Ryan would look great on a billboard. He’s an actor now."
But she said she hopes Wolf won’t be teased on the playground, like Rex was.
She added: "I think that society doesn’t like people playing outside the box. I didn’t have Wolf so that he could definitely be accepted by everybody in Dublin. I don’t know where the universe is going to take him. He could go all over the world for all I know. There’s many Wolfs around the world.
"People go ‘oh what about the teasing?’ I was teased. Rex was teased, terribly. Rex now feels that he is so blessed to have this name and my name means so much to me and it is such a strong name. They all feel like that in my family."
