Lorry crashes into bridge in Edinburgh as police forced to close road

A lorry has crashed into a bridge near a busy roundabout in Edinburgh. Police raced to the scene at Cameron Toll this afternoon at around 12.15pm after they were alerted to the incident.

Officers discovered the lorry stuck under the bridge on Old Dalkeith Road. Cops have now shut down the road while they deal with the incident but there are no reported casualties.

Lothian Buses have also temporarily had to suspend services some services until further notice, reports Edinburgh Live.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a vehicle striking a railway bridge in Cameron Toll, Edinburgh around 12.15pm on Wednesday, 28 September, 2022.

"The road is currently closed and recovery is being arranged."
