The Lorraine studio turned slightly awkward as Ranvir Singh stepped in for regular host Lorraine Kelly on Friday morning.
The Good Morning Britain regular sat down with the show’s Ria Hebden and Mark Heyes to appraise the best looks from the National Television Awards on Thursday evening.
Lorraine’s slideshow of celebrities reached weather reporter Laura Tobin, who donned a figure-hugging sequined red dress to the star-studded event.
Laura shared a clip of herself in the dress on her Instagram and told her followers she had recycled the Mascara dress after wearing it to the event three years ago.
Mark described the dress as ‘an oldie but a goodie’, as Ria replied: “Why wouldn't you reuse it?”
Ranvir then laughed as she joked: “She hasn't put a pound on, the cow. You wouldn't get me in anything from three years ago, sadly. I love Laura – at times.”
Ria and Mark laughed as he replied: “When she's not in a red sequined dress.”
The National Television Awards returned with a bang on Thursday after a month-long delay following the Queen's death in September, with Joel Dommett hosting the glam event at Wembley's OVO Arena.
As stars lined up to dazzle on the red carpet, two noticeable absences were that of the UK's beloved – and NTAs record-breaking – duo Ant and Dec.
The pair were sadly absent from the ceremony after contracting Covid, forcing them to pull out of all of their TV commitments.
The pair won their 21st consecutive award in the TV presenter category, going up against fan favourite Alison Hammond in the process.
Meanwhile, This Morning won an NTA for best daytime show despite Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's Queue-gate drama.
However, National Television Awards viewers believe they picked up on a subtle Queue-gate joke Sir Lenny Henry made during his acceptance speech.
The comedian was honoured for his almost 50-year career and presented with the special recognition award during the prestigious ceremony at the OVO Arena Wembley arena in London.
As Sir Lenny took to the stage to accept the award to a standing ovation from the star-studded audience, he made an apparent reference to the Queue furore surrounding This Morning ’s Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield after allegations they skipped the queue to see the Queen lying in state.
Yet the duo were compared to celebrities including David Beckham and Susanna Reid, who queued for hours to see the Queen lying in state.
Referring to former footballer David, who waited for 13 hours with other members of the public to pay his respects to the late monarch, Sir Lenny said: “This show is so long that David Beckham is still queueing outside.”
