Lorraine Kelly returned to work today (17 July) after contracting Coronavirus, which forced her to stay at home last week - leaving Carol Vorderman to temporarily replace her. Opening the latest episode of her hit ITV show, Lorraine spoke live with Dr Amir Khan to discuss how to stay cool in the as a heatwave scorches the United Kingdom.
Before diving into tips and tricks however, Dr Amir asked if Lorraine as recovered from her 'nasty' bout of Covid-19, which left her housebound. Dr Amir, said: "Morning Lorraine, yes it's very, very hot but first things first Lorraine, it's great to have you back. How are you feeling?"
Lorraine replied: "Do you know, I'm fine. It was a nasty one, the dreaded Covid got me and it's a nasty one.

"Amir, the worst headaches I think I've ever had in my whole life. Completely floored me, I couldn't actually get up without feeling really weird but I'm absolutely fine now.
"Thank goodness, as I kept saying all the time, that I got the vaccine. God knows what I would have been like without that, but yeah, I'm good thank you and thank you for all your help. It's just so good to have you, to know that I've got you and I can phone you up at any time, I'm so lucky."
"Any time Lorraine," Dr Amir replied, before telling her: "It's lovely to have you back."
Ex-countdown star Carol replaced Lorraine for last week's showings, while the usual host recovered at home. Lorraine broke the news to her followers on Twitter before last Monday's ITV show aired.
Revealing she was 'not too bad', she thanked Carol for taking over while she recovers. She said to her followers: "Well the Covid has finally got me and I tested positive at the weekend.
"Thanks to the vaccine it’s not too bad and I hope to be back at work very soon. Huge thanks to @carolvorders who will be hosting @lorraine until I’m back."
