Lorraine Kelly returned to work on Monday after contracting Covid and being forced to stay at home last week.
Opening the latest episode of her ITV show, Lorraine spoke to Dr Amir Khan live in Bradford to discuss how to stay cool in the current heatwave.
However, before sharing his top tips, Dr Amir said: "Morning Lorraine, yes it's very, very hot but first things first Lorraine, it's great to have you back. How are you feeling?"
Lorraine replied: "Do you know, I'm fine. It was a nasty one, the dreaded Covid got me and it's a nasty one. Amir, the worst headaches I think I've ever had in my whole life.
"Completely floored me, I couldn't actually get up without feeling really weird but I'm absolutely fine now.
"Thank goodness, as I kept saying all the time, that I got the vaccine. God knows what I would have been like without that, but yeah, I'm good thank you and thank you for all your help. It's just so good to have you, to know that I've got you and I can phone you up at any time, I'm so lucky," she added.
"Any time Lorraine," Dr Amir replied, before telling her: "It's lovely to have you back."
Former Countdown star Carol Vorderman filled in for Lorraine last week as she recovered at home.
Lorraine broke the news on her official Twitter page last Monday morning, ahead of the show airing.
Revealing she was "not too bad", she thanked Carol for taking over while she recovers.
She said to her followers: "Well the Covid has finally got me and I tested positive at the weekend. Thanks to the vaccine it’s not too bad and I hope to be back at work very soon.
"Huge thanks to @carolvorders who will be hosting @lorraine until I’m back."
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV and ITV Hub.
