Lorraine Kelly reveals she underwent secret surgery over Christmas break

Lorraine Kelly revealed she underwent surgery over the Christmas and New Year holidays.

The presenter, who fronts her own ITV show, had a chat with Dr Hillary on her morning series after the long break away from her eponymous programme.

She told viewers that she underwent keyhole surgery on her shoulder and had a quiet Christmas recovering.

The 63-year-old said: "I had the most quiet one ever, I did because I had a wee operation on my shoulder – it's been annoying me for ages."

A picture of her wearing a sling appeared on screen and she added: "There I am celebrating Christmas!

"Thank you to professor Levi and his team because oh my goodness me, keyhole surgery is incredible!

"They just had to remove some calcification and some bone and yeah, I'm doing my physio and I'm all fine, but we had a really quiet Christmas and New Year, Rosie and Steve looked after me."

In an interview last month, she revealed that she was thrilled to spend quality time with her daughter Rosie over Christmas.

Meanwhile, last year, Lorraine dedicated a lot of her time to losing weight after feeling unhappy with her weight gain.

The TV presenter announced several months ago that she has dropped two dress sizes and was feeling fantastic.

She showed off her slimmed-down figure in a tight pink dress alongside a before shot of her smiling before her weight loss.

The Scottish-born star, who has followed the Weight Watchers programme, said: ''Wow I cant believe both pictures are me!! I've dropped two dress sizes - I've lost a stone and a half - and the best part of all, I'm finding it easy to keep it off - all thanks to @ww.uk."

The telly fave said she had achieved her goal by using the Weight Watchers app and encouraging her to try to cook more healthy recipes.

She explained: "The app helps me track what I'm eating, how much sleep I'm getting and what exercise I'm doing, as well as making sure I drink enough water and giving me lots of delicious recipes to cook (or at least try haha!).

"I feel happier and healthier and I love sharing my experiences with the WW community."

The broadcaster told how she gradually slipped into unhealthy eating habits in lockdown and after Christmas, and has gone from 11st 10lbs to 10st 3lbs since January.
