Lorraine Kelly has slammed Alec Baldwin's return to Rust production this week.
During Wednesday's installment of Lorraine, the presenter, 63, said it 'didn't sit right' with her that Baldwin, 65, was allowed back on set of the American production after the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson for Rust Movie Productions told CNN that principal photography of 'Rust' is set to resume Thursday at Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana.
Production on the now controversial western, starring Alec Baldwin came to a halt in 2021, when cinematographer was fatally shot when a prop gun Baldwin was holding fired a live round of ammunition during rehearsal.
Director of the movie, Joel Souza, was also shot and injured during the horrific accident.
Baldwin and Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed were charged with involuntary manslaughter in Hutchins’ death in January.
The It's Complicated actor has pleaded not guilty and an attorney for Guttierrez Reed has said she will also plead not guilty as she continues to maintain her innocence.
Matthew Hutchins, who is Hutchins’ widower, and actor Baldwin announced they had reached an undisclosed settlement in October, following a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the actor and the film’s production companies, its producers and other key members of the crew.
The movie will be completed as part of the agreement, with Halyna's husband serving as an executive producer.
Discussing the controversial topic this morning, Lorraine insisted that the whole ordeal seemed 'very strange' as she slammed Baldwin's return to the set where Hutchins' lost her life.
"I just don't understand. It's very strange," Lorraine said.
"The whole thing is really distasteful I think. Obviously the family have come to terms with it, or maybe they feel it's some sort of tribute to her - to finish the film after she died.
"It's bizarre though. I don't want to see that movie but I'm sure a lot of people will," Lorraine added.
