Lorraine Kelly revealed she was left feeling a little worse for wear while presenting her show on Monday morning (September 26) following her wedding anniversary over the weekend.
The 62-year-old celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary to husband Steve Smith on Saturday and was treated to a surprise party organised by her daughter, Rosie.
The broadcaster was forced to come clean about her hangover as she chatted to GP Amir Khan about possible hangover cures on her ITV show.
Speaking from his surgery, Dr Khan said: “Lorraine, you’re looking lovely, but I’ve got to say you’re looking a little bit tired. Have you been partying too hard?”
The Scottish star replied with a nod as she then admitted to “partying all weekend”.
She said: “My little brother came over from Singapore with his lovely girlfriend, Anisa. So many people were there and I had absolutely no idea. It was lovely.
“All the attention to detail – even the flowers Rosie had done - were the flowers that were in my bouquet 30 years ago. It was so lovely.”
To which Dr Khan replied: “How gorgeous. Are you a little bit hungover then, Lorraine? There’s a glass of wine in each one of those photos.”
Giggling away, the broadcaster admitted she didn’t just have one surprise party but in fact a second on Sunday to continue the celebrations with leftover booze from the first.
She added: “Yes and it wasn’t the same one, I have to say. It went on.
“We had the lovely John Kelly – no relation, but he kind of is like my brother – and he threw us another party yesterday.
“Because you know when you have a party, and you have tons of booze left, so you don’t know what to do? Then you have another one. It was great. Really good.”
She then asked: “But hangover, tips, what would you say? I usually have a big sausage and an Irn-Bru – other soft drinks are available.”
The presenter has been married to Steve since 1992 after the pair met when he worked as her cameraman on TV-am.
The ITV star was working as a reporter at the time and said she knew he was ‘The One’ from the moment she laid eyes on him.
She previously shared: “He walked into the TV-am office where I was working as a reporter and he was part of the crew, and I thought, ‘That’ll do, I’m having that’.”
“We were friends for a good year, then it all happened rather quickly, when we had to do a shoot on location at Glencoe.
“We were staying in a tiny hotel in the middle of nowhere and I got him incredibly drunk on tequila before making my move. The way I remember it is that I leaped on him like a ninja and he had absolutely no defence!”
