Lorient striker Terem Moffi was the subject of a transfer bid from West Ham United earlier this month.
football.london understands that an offer of £20million (plus £5m in add-ons) was made for the 23-year-old Nigerian international who has scored 12 Ligue 1 goals this season, second only to Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.
On top of the Hammers’ proposal, there has also been strong reported interest in Moffi from Ligue 1 rivals Nice, with the forward being heavily linked with a move away from Lorient this month.

Amid the speculation and his scoring form, Lorient made the decision to leave him out of their matchday squad on Saturday for their Coupe de France clash away at Bastia.
For the trip to Ligue 2 side Bastia, Moffi was not involved as Lorient drew 1-1 in normal time before eventually winning 4-1 in a penalty shootout.
While West Ham remain hopeful of landing him, they have already spent money this month on a new forward, completing the £12m signing of Danny Ings from Aston Villa on Friday.
Asked after signing Ings whether he was still aiming to sign another striker this month, Moyes admitted he thought a move would be unlikely.
“I don’t think we would have,” Moyes told football.london. “I have to say thank you to the board as they have gone out and helped and backed us when we could see what we have been desperately missing, probably for the first part of the season – someone who could score some goals.
“They have helped us, so I don’t think we will be going back to the well, to be honest.”
