A "toxic" fallout with ITV bosses has led Saira Khan to join GB News.
The Mirror reports the former Loose Women host is the latest big name to sign up with the channel, which is known for its right-leaning stance.
Saira, 53, will join Eamon Holmes on the GB Breakfast Show every Monday and Tuesday, as reports the Mirror.
It was ex-This Morning star Eamonn who announced the exciting change in direction for Saira, who he hailed one of his "best friends".
Eamonn posted a snap of him with his new colleague and said: “Your Mon/Tues line up on GB Breakfast.
“Looking forward to hooking up with one of my best friends Saira Khan.
“We will be your presenting duo. Expect the unexpected 6 - 9.30 am.” [sic]
Former ITV legend Eamonn joined GB last year after his 15 years of fronting This Morning alongside wife Ruth Langsford came to an end.
The Daily Mail's Andrew Pierce also works at GB News, as well as Camilla Tominey from the Telegraph and Nigel Farage.
The Mirror reports former Celeb Big Brother star Saira was forced to step down from Loose Women after she claimed bosses tried to make her join OnlyFans.
She alleged bosses cared more about viewing figures than her mental health and the “shocking” request was the final straw in what she alleged were a string of desperate bids to get publicity for the ITV programme as ratings slipped.
Speaking about ITV culture in the wake of Jeremy Kyle and Love Island scandals following the suicides of contestants, Saira said: “The straw that broke the camel’s back was when one of the young producers was sent running after me to ask whether I would be prepared to open an OnlyFans account.” OnlyFans is a site where users post soft porn images of themselves for cash.
“To say I was shocked was an understatement,” Saira added. “I could see she herself was mortified to ask me. I replied, ‘You’re asking an Asian woman who has a husband and kids and comes from a Muslim family to open an OnlyFans account?’
“There and then, I knew my time was up on the show. I felt humiliated, angry, disappointed and like fodder.”
A spokesman for Loose Women said at the time of her claims: “We strongly refute all of these claims. Duty of care is of paramount importance for all of our panellists. Saira left the panel almost two years ago and we wish her well.”
