Loose Women's Stacey Solomon left riled by airport chaos as travellers asked to postpone holidays

Loose Women star Stacey Solomon hit out at 'unreasonable' requests from airlines for travellers to reschedule their trips abroad at the last minute to help alleviate the airport chaos that continues to make headlines.

Over the past few months, footage of massive queues at airports like Manchester and Heathrow have been widely circulated online, as well as making it onto TV news bulletins, with holiday makers facing lengthy waits at check-in desks and to get through security, with many have had flights delayed and, in some cases, cancelled, due to staff shortages.

At the start of Friday's Loose Women, host Kaye Adams addressed the news that British Airways is invited those with trips abroad booked to 'reschedule' their flights for free until later in the year, as it's expected that the impending school summer holidays will add to the already problematic situation.

The development came after Heathrow bosses announced a 'passenger cap,' on Thursday and Kaye asked Stacey and co-stars Linda Robson and Nadia Sawalha if they'd be willing to change their summer holiday to help ease travel chaos, adding there'd been calls from a controversial travel writer to 'ban' child free holidaymakers from flying during the school break.

Stacey replied: "First of all I don't think many people without families think 'ooh let's wait until the summer holidays when all the kids are off school and go away.' And if they are, it's because that's when they have to go away."

She added: "They might have work commitments, they might have pets. It takes so much to travel, I think it's unreasonable to ask people really close to their holidays to move their schedules around."

Addressing the chaos itself, Stacey ranted: "I don't understand how they book it all out like this! It really bugs me. All the airlines are struggling, the airports are struggling and most people book their holidays really far in advance. So they've foreseen this huge boost in people going away and you think they'd put provisions in place to make sure everyone got on their trip successfully.

"Certain things happen that you can't help, but not to have the absolute chaos that is going on right now. You just think how did they let this happen?!"
