Loose Women's Kaye Adams reveals first ever tattoo with sweet link to late mum

Kaye Adams has unveiled her first ever tattoo - an inking with a tribute to her late mother over the weekend.

The presenter, 60 - who is best known for being on Loose Women - visited the Black Dot Tattoo studio in Glasgow recently, after reaching the milestone birthday last month.

She took to Instagram yesterday to unveil the tattoo, which the journalist has revealed is an ink tribute to her late mother Cathie Adams, who passed away aged 83 in 2018.

Kaye posted a video on the platform over the weekend which showcased the tattoo on her left arm, which reads: "Over twenty one". She was asked about it in the comments.

Explaining the meaning behind the ink, she wrote in the comments section recently: "[It says] over twenty one. It's what my mum would always say when asked her age".

Kaye shared footage of herself getting the ink from tattoo artist Aimee Williamson. It included clips of her during the process as well as footage showcasing the tattoo itself.

The presenter wrote about the experience in the caption that accompanied her post last week. She told her followers on the platform: "I only went and did it!"

Kaye continued: "I teased I was going on the How to Be 60 podcast and I know most of you thoughts I wouldn't do it (to be fair so did I last night!) but I'm so glad I did."

Commenting on what her late mother would think about it, she wrote: "My mum will be up there rolling her eyes at me but I think deep down she'd be a little bit proud too!"

Kaye teased that she will discuss the experience on an "upcoming podcast" and took the opportunity to express her gratitude to tattoo artist Aimee for supporting her.

She wrote: "I just want to say a massive thank you to [Aimee] for being so kind and gentle with me. Honestly it felt more like going to a beauty therapist than a tattoo studio!"

The presenter used various hashtags about the experience at the end of the caption, including #firsttattoo and #lifeafter60.

The post has amassed more than 5,000 likes since it was uploaded. Some of Kaye's followers took to the comments section to congratulate her for getting the tattoo.
