Loose Women pulled off air for rest of the week as ITV changes schedule

Any ITV viewers looking forward to their daily Loose Women fix this week will be left disappointed as the show is cancelled for the next four days.

The daytime talk show, which is usually on every weekday at 12:30pm, has been pulled off air to make way for coverage of the Cheltenham Festival horse racing on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. ITV will broadcast five live races a day between 1pm and 4:30pm on ITV1.

The schedule changes mean that the ITV Lunchtime News will instead be shown at 12:30pm before the racing coverage kicks off. Loose Women will return to its usual slot next Monday, March 20.

Loose Women host Ruth Langsford confirmed the news at the end of Monday's episode, telling viewers: "We are off for the rest of the week because of the racing at Cheltenham. We will be back next Monday. I know it's a shame, but we will see you then."

Tynemouth-born star Denise Welch regularly makes appearances on the Loose Women panel - but the 64-year-old presenter recently admitted that no amount of money could make her appear on a famous BBC competition. Denise revealed that she has been asked to take part in Celebrity Masterchef numerous times, but has turned it down because she finds the idea too "terrifying".

She told the Daily Star: "They keep coming back and I keep saying 'not in a million years'. I've said no 84 times. I can't think of anything more terrifying than me doing a cooking show."
