refurbishedWe’ll admit it, when we first heard that the Ibiza Gran Hotel was referring to its newly refurbed spa as a “wellness sanctuary”, our immediate reaction was to stifle a scoff. After all, it’s not unusual in luxury tourism to hear such overblown language, but rarely does the reality match the marketing bumpf. But that was before we saw it for ourselves…
Occupying an entire two-storey building, the 1,300sqm complex lives up to the billing and then some. A marble-clad temple dedicated to preening, pampering and prettifying, it boasts an aqua spa at its heart, alongside numerous treatment rooms, a beauty salon and mammoth gym, all seriously specced out. If there’s a more impressive wellness offering on the island – which the hotel claims there isn’t – then we’re yet to see it.
