Over his career, Klay Thompson has taken on many different nicknames and personalities on and off the court. However, the most important iteration of Thompson during the Golden State Warriors’ run to four NBA championships might be the legend of “Game 6 Klay.”
With multiple chances to either close teams out in the playoffs or extend the series to Game 7, Thompson has shown up in a big way when the series hits Game 6.
Ovcr 13 game sixes in his career, Thompson is averaging 20 points on 42.8% shooting from the field and 47.7% from beyond the arc to go along with 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest.
Thompson has notched 25 or more points in six of those games, with 30 or more points in four of them.
On Friday night, Game 6 Klay will have the chance to add to his lore. With a 3-2 lead in the first round series, the Warriors will welcome the Kings back to San Francisco’s Chase Center for Game 6.
