Looking ahead: Here are the 5 betting favorites for the 2023 Masters at Augusta National

Temperatures are on the rise, the snow is melting away and the golf season is in full swing. That only means one thing: It’s almost time for the Masters.

Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia will once again welcome patrons for the first round of the year’s first men’s major championship in 15 days.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the defending champion and betting favorite. The Texan repeated at the WM Phoenix Open earlier this season and claimed the Players Championship a few weeks ago.

We will have several updates as the tournament draws closer, but as it stands now, here are the top 5 betting favorites for the 2023 Masters.

Scheffler has won twice already this season and doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon. Aside from his win last year, Scheffler has two other top-20 finishes at Augusta.

Jon Rahm (17/2, +850)

Rahm is a three-time winner this season and has had success at the Masters over his career. Before tying for 27th last year, Rahm finished inside the top 10 from 2018 to 2021.

Rory McIlroy (9/1, +900)

Will this be there year? Who knows.

McIlroy hasn’t had his best stuff in 2023, including missing the cut at the Players Championship.

He was the runner-up to Scheffler last season and has finished inside the top 10 seven times since 2014.

Jordan Spieth (18/1, +1800)

Spieth should have two green jackets in his closet at home, but the par-3 12th stole one from him.

On top of his win in 2015, Spieth tied for third in 2021 and grabbed solo third in 2018. He missed the cut last season.

Cam Smith (20/1, +2000)

We haven’t seen much from the 2022 Champion Golfer of the Year since his move to LIV Golf.

Smith’s had a ton of success at Augusta National over his career, tying for third last year, for 10th in 2021 and for second in 2020.
