LookFantastic £55 Father's Day Grooming box is a must to start your skincare journey

LookFantastic have launched their very helpful Fathers Day Edit Grooming Edit box.

The sleek box features 12 products for your skin, body and hair that will help you get started on your self-care journey, or even just top you up with the essentials. The box is worth £140 but you can claim it for just £55.

Getting into creams, face washes and moisturisers can be a bit overwhelming. Men's grooming is still looked upon in some areas as a bit unnecessary, or it's overlooked in general, but I'm here to tell you that's wrong, so wrong.

Looking after your skin and face as you get older is vital and, yes, sometimes knowing what your skin needs and finding products that cater to your skin type can be a tricky task. I had issues with psoriasis and sensitive skin on my face, particularly under my eyes, for years and this only began to lift once I dialled into a consistent skin care routine using the likes of SPF, Hyaluronic acid and under eye serums, which I now carry out obsessively every morning and night.

So, if you, or the man in your life, is looking to make a few changes when it comes to grooming or you just fancy trying some new products, this Fathers Day Edit Grooming box might be just what you're looking for.

What's in the box?

Elemis Deep Cleansing Facial Wash 150ml – worth £26 (full-size)

Crucially, it says on the bottle 'For all skin types' which always gives me the confidence to dive right in and lather it up. So I did, and the results were a firm thumbs up.

It's a decent sized bottle, and with you only needing a small amount to give your face a refreshing kick in the morning, it should last you a while, which is a good thing considering that on its own it comes in at £26.

Rituals Homme Shave Cream 70ml – worth £9.50 (full-size)

Finding a shaving cream that doesn't irritate my skin or leave blemishes was another ordeal as I was growing up and so I locked onto the NIVEA for men sensitive range that features a shaving gel that is friendly to the face. Fortunately, this is also kind to your face, but it also has a really smooth texture and, although it's pricier than the NIVEA offering, the scent is actually to die for.

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel 150ml – worth £36 (full-size)

Anything that says it can 'De-stress' is a must for me and I was eager to check this out. Did it do the trick? Well, it's not a therapist but its pretty unique mix of rosemary, black pepper, lavender and ginger, aka all the good stuff in one blend, did leave me feeling pretty relaxed, so that's a good start. It's also vegan so you know you can rely on it to not get aggressive with your skin.

Heath Revitalising Eye Serum 15ml – worth £14 (full-size)

The Heath Revitalising Eye Serum was a major, major revelation for me. I'd dabbled in under eye creams, such as this effort from Superdrug, and eye focused serums but nothing really made lasting impact. I was most impressed with this however.

Cooling and refreshing, I found that using it even just for a few days that any dark circles were slowly starting to lift, and it feels extra revitalizing if used as part of a morning face routine.

Hanz de Fuko Claymation Clay Wax 7ml – worth £4

I recently shaved my head after an inexplicable episode in which I decided to fully bleach my hair, so I don't have a lot of hair to test this out on. However, I've had an array of hairstyles throughout my life and I've always found using wax on hair with just a few weeks growth was the best way to maximise the benefits of it.

This is firm and keeps my, albeit short hair, in place and doesn't grease up your hands too much.

Hawkins & Brimble Luxury Soap Bar – worth £6 (full-size)

It's soap, and it's for the 'modern man' apparently, but despite that, I liked how chunky this was and the shea butter element to it makes it feel pretty smooth and fresh. It lathers good too, as a good bar of soap should.

WetBrush Original Detangler Hair Brush – Classic Black – worth £12 (full-size)

Again, not a lot of hair right now, but If I remember back to lockdown, and shudder, about the time I grew my hair out down the back of my neck, I feel this brush would be pretty good at navigating the knots and and tangles, with a limited amount of pain. As it is, it feels soft and, since I'll never grow my hair that long ever again, I can only say I think it will do the trick if you've got some lovely, lovely locks on you.

Sun Bum CocoBalm Lip Balm – Ocean Mint 4.25g – worth £4.79 (full-size)

Two things I've learnt as I've adapted my skincare routine as I've entered my mid 30s - one is using SPF moisturiser and the other is a good lip balm, and this one is a good fit for me. It smells like coconut and chocolate which is always nice but just don't overload it or every meal will taste like you're eating a Bounty for the foreseeable future.

Versace Eros Eau de Parfum 5ml – worth £7.66 (deluxe size)

I'm a fan of a good scent and I usually stick with Tom Ford and Issey Miyake, but this was a lovely surprise. It's only a small sample, so it's good to pack if you're heading for a weekend away or to a festival perhaps, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in sheer delight of smell. It's got a soft and fresh scent with tones of wood and Italian lemons - it smells like the best morning imaginable, basically.

Molton Brown Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel Bath and Shower Gel 100ml - worth £10 (deluxe size)

This has a sharp and fresh scent and it feels pretty invigorating. I'd say it's best used following a workout, a run or long day in the office, as the oceanic vibes and overall smell of it has a sort of escapist quality, and you'll probably find yourself spending longer in the bath or shower than you usually do.

Montblanc Explorer Platinum Eau de Parfum 4.5ml (deluxe size)

I always feel you need at least two aftershaves on the go as you'll never know how you're going to be feeling that day or night. Would I pick this one as an alternative to the Versace? Most likely not. It's not bad but it has a very strong and commanding sort of scent that someone who's a big-shot on LinkedIn might wear and I feel, despite its small bottle, it's slightly overpowering and doesn't have the subtlety and general vibes of the Eros.

Bulldog Original Bamboo Razor – worth £12 (full-size)

Out of all my skincare products, I still consider my choice of razor to be the most vital one I can make. So often a new razor has left my skin visibly irritated on my lip, cheek or neck and so I'm particularly careful about what I use. If you're someone like me who doesn't get a lot of beard growth then this is a good option.

It's gentle, comfortable and after one use it hadn't disturbed my skin at all. It also comes with two blades which is an added bonus.

So, all in all, if you're a little more advanced in your skincare routine, and you're dipping into exfoliation, serums and acids, then you'll want probably want something a bit more comprehensive with some advanced products, but as a start, this box really sets you up and will maybe help convert you into a master of looking after your face.

The LOOKFANTASTIC Father's Day Grooming Edit is available now for £55 and beauty box subscribers can receive £10 off making it £45.
