Look no further, we've just found the comfiest, high-quality egg chair (without the big spend)

Split image of garden egg chairs.

We're calling it now, this summer will once again be all about the egg chair. The desirable design may have been firmly in the spotlight over the last few years, but they're well and truly here to stay.

Why? "Because they’re an easy way to make a style statement with your garden furniture while still keeping comfort high on your list of priorities," says Laura Honey, w&h's homes ecommerce editor. "The shape makes for a perfect cocoon, cleverly placed, it’s a reading nook, relaxing spot, and a serene place to snooze."

They’re worth investing in because egg chairs absolutely fall into the category of aspirational outdoor furniture that will prove to be a timeless buy – even more so when you find high-end quality at affordable prices.

"They’ve always been associated with a resort-style aesthetic and, increasingly, that’s what people want from their gardens too." While you can find 'deals', there's nothing more reassuring than finding good quality at affordable prices, to ensure your investment lasts the long haul.

While the egg chair remains supreme, for me, any piece of furniture that offers a gentle, free-flowing motion to soothe you is a winning design for relaxing in the garden.

And with searches already on the rise, up 233% year-on-year, for garden rocking chairs, we predict this comfy alternative is set to become another best-selling buy this summer.

While there will always be a huge demand for swinging egg seats, this new trend is appearing for outdoor rockers to rival the undisputed champion of garden 'it' chairs. Perfectly compact, irresistibly comfortable, you can see why these chic garden rocking chairs are already gaining so much attention...

Whether you prefer an egg chair or a garden rocker, it's safe to say both designs provide a divine way to relax in the garden this summer.
