Look inside BBC Scotland's Home of the Year contenders from Hebrides and Skye

Next weeks trip to the Hebrides and Skye on BBC Scotland's of the Year will feature three brand new homes up for the prestigious award.

The Artist's House in Skye, New Tolsta in Lewis and Stormy Hill in Skye are all up for judging next week on the popular BBC programme.

And Glasgow Live has the low-down on the homes from the North West of Scotland - do you want a sneak peak into these three homes?

Of course you do - and we are more than happy to deliver - check out the videos below:

The Artist's House - Dunvegan, Isle of Skye

The Artist’s House which overlooks Loch Dunvegan in Skye is home to percussionist Alan and artist Diana.

The original croft house dates back around 160 years and has been extended on two separate occasions.

The first extension provides a studio space for artist Diana to work and, more recently, the second has added an art gallery and music studio for Alan.

The Artist’s House also boasts a unique glasshouse come office and, on the shore at the bottom of the garden, the couple have added a hide, complete with wood burner.

New Tolsta - Stornoway, Isle of Lewis

New Tolsta in Stornoway is home to artist Tom and since buying it in 2006, he has painstakingly restored the croft house to create a truly unique home full of his artwork with traditional pieces of furniture.

Having been uninhabited for 37 years, New Tolsta was in a terrible state until Tom returned it to its former glory as well as adding his own distinctive style throughout.

Stand-out features from this home include the various artworks on the walls, the stunning, tiled floor and bright blue coloured door.

Stormy Hill -Waternish Peninsula, Skye

Completed in 2017, Stormy Hill was designed by draughtsman James who lived in it during construction, sleeping in a pop up tent.

The new-build property is modern and unique, while still retaining some old-fashioned features of a home in the northern part of Scotland.

Oakwood dressers, full length windows and circular windows are the first thing you see when you enter the livingroom.

The use of colour may be rather muted in this home, but Stormy Hill proves that brighter doesn't always mean better.

However, only one home can make it through to the Scotland’s Home of the Year final.

You can tune into episode five of Scotland's Home of the Year on Monday, May 2 on BBC One and BBC Scotland at 8:30pm.
