Jurgen Klopp was left enthused after watching his Liverpool side romp to an impressive 6-1 win at the expense of Leeds United.
The Reds headed into the game having not tasted victory since their 7-0 historic triumph over Manchester United at Anfield on March 5. But they ended their wait for a positive result in supreme style on Monday night.
Klopp has so often been left unsure of what to say after watching Liverpool fall to poor away defeats at grounds such as Bournemouth and Wolves this season.

But after watching his players appear back to their best, the Reds boss was naturally in a more positive mood to dissect the game. Delivering his post-match verdict to Sky Sports, Klopp said: “I think it’s the best game we’ve played this season, from all different perspectives, aspects of the game. It was a really good game, sensational goals.
"Counter-pressing-wise, the best game for decades — a long time. My favourite situation was the 92nd minute, we lose the ball and four players chase the poor boy from Leeds. That was absolutely outstanding, really what we wanted.
“I cannot really explain why our counter-pressing was not there [at other times this season], we were asking for it all the time. But tonight, it clicked — it actually clicked in the second half against Arsenal. We have had too many situations where we have to run too much to get the ball back, deep in half and we then have to build again.
“Tonight, I’m not sure how many goals we scored after we won the ball back. For sure, the first one was the block from Trent in the counter-pressing situation and the second one was Diogo Jota, so we had that as well. That makes all the difference."
There was certainly plenty to take away from the performance, but supporters also appreciated Klopp seemingly being back to his best when delivering his post-match interview. Liverpool have been unrecognisable in recent weeks, but Klopp may well have discovered a way to get the best out of his group once again.
