Long-term use of certain acid reflux drugs linked to increased risk of dementia: Study

Washington DC : According to new research published in the issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology, people who take proton pump inhibitors for four and a half years or more may have a higher risk of dementia than people who do not take these medications. This study does not establish that acid reflux medications cause dementia; rather, it demonstrates a correlation.
