If you’ve been waiting for the chance to carve down snowy slopes on PS5, your moment’s almost here. The indie game Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is sliding onto PlayStation 5 on December 3, 2025.
Developed by Megagon Industries, Snow Riders first turned heads on PC and Xbox earlier this year. Now the version that impressed over one million fans is finally arriving on Sony’s console.
For those unfamiliar, Snow Riders is a sequel to the widely underrated indie gem Lonely Mountains: Downhill, a downhill cycling game. Snow Riders is basically a skiing version of that. It’s a simplistic, cozy skiing game with poly graphics and ragdoll physics. If you played the original, you will love this one. And, if you haven’t played the original, I’d highly recommend it.
In short, Snow Riders will be available on the PS5 on December 3rd. And, it has a lot in store for the PS5 fans.
What’s New In The PS5 Port?
This isn’t just a basic PS5 port. In fact, it includes a full year’s worth of updates, including the “Freestylers” update that added a brand-new Trick Mode and the fan-favorite Free Ride Mode. Simply put, you have 100 new trick challenges to complete, freerun-style runs down the slopes, and of course, more sneaky shortcuts to make every run feel different.
You aren’t limited to your platform either, as Snow Riders has full cross-platform support. You can either ski solo or with friends without having to worry about what platform they are on. You can play with up to eight players.
To top it all off, the “Highlands” DLC will also be available for PS5 owners, offering fresh trails, new challenges, and even more skiable landscapes once you get familiar with the core game.
If you have been looking for a cozy and fun indie game to play on your PS5, then this might be worth getting. It’s extremely fun to ski down slopes with your friends.
