Damage from Storm Bert disrupting rail services during Monday evening rush hour.
A number of trains out of London Euston have been cancelled after Storm Bert brought flooding to parts of the network over the weekend.
Trains have had to be diverted away from Northampton after the River Nene burst its banks causing extensive flooding on the railway and in the local area.
Network Rail has said it is working with Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway to keep passengers moving on the West Coast Main Line.
However multiple services out of Euston to Birmingham, Tring and other destinations on the line have had to be cancelled.
Disruption is expected to last through to the end of the day.

The Avanti West Coast website says some services - to destinations including Crewe, Tring, Manchester Piccadilly, and Birmingham New Street - are no longer running, while others have been delayed.

The flooding has caused severe flooding, and means all trains through Northampton are suspended, said West Coast Main Line on X.

It shared a photo that appeared to show the entire train track under muddy floodwater.
Major disruption is expected for the rest of the day.
Major disruption to hit west coast mainline services all day
Monday 25 November 2024 14:39 , Josh SalisburyDisruption is expected on west coast mainline services out of Euston all day because of a mixture of flooding and defective tracks.
National Rail said a speed restriction over a defective track between Rugby and Milton Keynes Central means that trains have to run at reduced speed.
Trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 60 minutes.
The major disruption will affect Avanti West Coast services and London North Western Railway services for the rest of the day.
Services are being further delayed by flooding at Northampton.

A lane on the A14 eastbound between junctions J16 Catworth and J18 Spaldwick West is also shut with disruption.
The M32 in Bristol is closed in both directions between J1 near Hambrook and M4 J19.
Southwestern services to resume after fallen tree cleared

However, Southern, which runs rail services across the south-east of England, is still advising some services on Monday will be cancelled or revised because of forecast severe weather, including on its London network and the West Coastway between Havant and Southampton.
Great Western Railways has also warned passengers not to travel as it suspended services on all key routes because of flooding and fallen trees.

GWR tickets valid tomorrow and Wednesday

Southern disruption to and from Watford Junction

Do not travel on key Paddington services, passengers warned

Commuters are being told to avoid services running on the following routes:
- Penzance to London Paddington
- Newport, Bristol Parkway to London Paddington
- Bristol Temple Meads, Swindon, Reading to London Paddington.
Flooding has closed the line in several places between Reading and Plymouth and further sites are likely to flood through the day.
Great Western Railway said it cannot guarantee any alternative route for their services between London and the West of England - meaning they cannot guarantee that any given journey on that route remains feasible for the remainder of the day.
It’s a similar story on the routes to/from London Paddington and South Wales and routes to/from Paddington and Worcester.

Passengers have been warned of major disruption between Milton Keynes and Rugby, hitting trains through the area.
All trains have been suspended through Northampton due to severe flooding caused by the River Nene bursting its banks, National Rail has warned.
It comes after a combination of the storm and a power cut left passengers locked outside of Euston on Sunday night in a bid to avoid a dangerous crowd crush.
Raft of Southern commuter services cancelled

It has advised passengers to check before they travel, saying: “Southern will be running fewer trains during this morning.”
Among the services already hit are:

Owing to multiple fallen trees damaging electrical overhead wire between Broxbourne and Audley End, train services between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport are also subject to severe delays, alterations and cancellations.
