Commuter trains are getting back on track after an Aslef drivers strike crippled the rail network on Tuesday.
Services in-and-around London are being spared further walkouts as a rolling programme of industrial action targets Northern and TransPennine Express trains.
However a nine-day overtime ban continues meaning operators are running restricted schedules.
Further disruption lies ahead with walkouts at LNER, Greater Anglia and C2C on Friday, at Avanti West Coast and East Midlands Railway on February 3 and at Great Western, CrossCountry and Chiltern on February 5.
Meanwhile on the Tube, the Central Line is facing severe delays due to a shortage of trains.
