London Tech Week 2024: All you need to know about week-long event

London Tech Week begins today (June 10), and organisers anticipate that due to "tremendous interest", the event will double in size from the previous year. Over the course of the entire week, when there will be fringe events, the event may draw up to 45,000 people.

As it does every year, London Tech Week 2024 is sure to be a historic occasion in the UK tech landscape, presenting the newest developments and encouraging cooperation amongst digital sector players.

What happens during London Tech Week?

The schedule for this year is packed with informative keynotes, panel discussions, seminars, and exhibitions.

Most importantly, it is a big opportunity to network with the brightest minds in the industry.

When is London Tech Week 2024?

This year’s event spans from June 10 to June 14. The main event takes place from 10 to 12 June at Olympia Events, with fringe events happening at other locations across the week from Monday to Friday.

Key events to keep an eye out for

Day One

The theme of the inaugural event is artificial intelligence (AI). Leading the first day is IBM UK & Ireland Chief Executive Dr Nicola Hodson, who will talk about practical AI applications and how they affect businesses with clients.The Head of Insights and Data at Founders Forum & Tech Nation, Francesca Arese Lucini, will give a presentation on the UK's place in the global AI scene.

Panel talks and fireside chats examining the possibilities and difficulties of AI are scheduled for later in the day, with planned talks from technology leaders at Microsoft UK, Google Deepmind, Mastercard, Monzo and Natwest.

Apart from artificial intelligence, several crucial technology areas will be investigated, such as quantum technologies, healthcare transformation, cybersecurity, and resolving the talent scarcity in the IT industry. There will be exhibitions showcasing state-of-the-art developments in a variety of digital industries, providing startups with the chance to present their creative ideas to possible partners and investors.

Day Two

A panel discussion on "The UK's Pathway to Science & Tech Superpower" which explores plans and activities to push the UK to the forefront of the global tech landscape, opens the morning session on the main stage. After that, a fireside discussion titled "Information and Influence: A New Era of Propaganda?" will look at the potential and problems brought about by the changing media landscape.

A programme designed especially for business owners is available at the Founders Stage. Panel discussions will cover creating a profitable company, choosing the ideal site for a startup, and creating engaging investor narratives.

Meanwhile, startups can display their creative solutions on stage during the Pitch Stage. Companies in the health and climate tech sectors will compete for funding and recognition.

Entrepreneurs may learn a lot from workshops on how to navigate the tax intricacies of growing a software firm and how to create a solid LinkedIn presence.

Day Three

London Tech Week 2024's last day looks to be an exciting finale, providing a comprehensive look at the rapidly changing technological landscape and how it affects different aspects of our lives.

The Corporate Innovation Stage will concentrate on innovative approaches to problem-solving and managing workforce shortages. A wide spectrum of tech industry interests will be catered to by the several instructive talks, workshops, and displays that will fill the day. Topics covered will include health technology, sports technology, and workshops on attracting diverse talent and establishing a successful career in technology.

With a keynote speech about the future of innovation in the UK, Indro Mukerjee, CEO of Innovate UK, will set the tone. Shobie Ramakrishnan, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at GSK, and Kate Smaje, Senior Partner at McKinsey Digital, will have a discussion titled "The Future of Healthcare" to talk about the revolutionary potential of technology in transforming the healthcare industry.
